Legends Lose Again, 6-2, to Bananas
|
The Savannah Bananas rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Kyle Foster to a win, beating the Lexington Legends, 6-2, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Lexington now owns a losing streak of 15 games.
Maverick Berryman had a big 2-run home run for the Bananas in the top of the fourth inning. With Savannah leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a changeup from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Declan Conner and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Bananas on top, 3-0.
Lexington manager Jonathan Barfield, after yet another defeat, remained upbeat. He said: "We're going to get out of this thing, we're going to come busting through."
