Noonan Squelches Hagerstown Offense
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Savannah Bananas and Hagerstown Suns.
Johnny Noonan was superb against Hagerstown. The left-hander, who is tied for 7th in the SAL in innings pitched with 48.2, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Bananas victory. The score was 5-0. Denny Pedersen earned the save for Savannah, his 1st.
Noonan made it look easy. He scattered 3 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 10 strikeouts. The left-hander upped his season record to 4-1.
"Johnny was outstanding," said Savannah manager Ryan McMullen.
With the victory, the Bananas upped their record to 24-13.
