Fireflies Score Late to Upend Intimidators, 2-0
|
Columbia Fireflies starter Iker Arozena was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Kannapolis Intimidators, 2-0. Columbia is now 16-22.
Columbia used the timely hitting of Jimmy Lukefahr to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fireflies on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Iker was Iker," said Fireflies manager Jason Earle. "He gave it all he's got."
