Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Greensboro Grasshoppers got the win.
Clancy Timpson was instrumental in his team's 4-3 triumph over the Savannah Bananas. The right fielder was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Eden Rice, the winner, improved to 3-2. He held Savannah to 3 runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Nathan Oko earned save number 10 this season.
Dale Page aided the Greensboro cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman was 1-4.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Greensboro manager Bryce Scott.
