Shorebirds Run Win Streak to 7
|
Delmarva Shorebirds starter Bernardo Sanders hurled his team past the Rome Braves, 2-0. Sanders got the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Sanders allowed no runs. Delmarva is in second place in the South Atlantic League Northwest Division with a record of 31-14.
The Braves had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Shorebirds going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Cameron Crosby came to the plate. Crosby hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 fastball from Rome hurler Apolo Terrero. It was Crosby's 5th double of the year.
"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Crosby.
