Power Get Past Lakewood, 4-3
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the West Virginia Power and Lakewood BlueClaws.
West Virginia parlayed a decent outing from starter Larry Pepping into a solid win over the Lakewood BlueClaws. The final score was 4-3. Finley Wade collected his 12th save.
Scottie Mattox came through with a big-time hit for West Virginia. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It never gets old," said Pepping. "Winning, that is."
West Virginia is 4th in the South Atlantic League Northwest Division with a record of 26-22.
