Greene Lifts Power to 12-7 Triumph
The West Virginia Power defeated the Savannah Bananas, 12-7, at Ballpark of Savannah. West Virginia third baseman J.C. Greene had a superb performance. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. West Virginia reliever Edgar Bess picked up the win, raising his record to 2-3. Herman Mills was tagged with the loss. The third-place Bananas have dropped 5 straight games.

West Virginia used the timely hitting of Lindsay Handy to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Power on top, 9-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Greene, "and then get after it again."
