Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for BlueClaws
The Lakewood BlueClaws topped the Hickory Crawdads, 1-0, in South Atlantic League action at L.P. Frans Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Lakewood pitcher Hiroyuki Terada. Lakewood reliever Hunter Britz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-5. Oliver Horton absorbed the loss. With the victory, the BlueClaws record now stands at 14-32.

Rhet Pomeroy, the 24-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pomeroy contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Lakewood up, 1-0.

"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Lakewood skipper Ben Schiappa. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
