Asheville got a decent performance from pitcher Drew Myers, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kannapolis Intimidators. Kannapolis won the CMC-NorthEast Stadium contest, 3-2. Myers threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. The win elevated the Intimidators to 35-15.

Neil Walthall had a big solo home run for the Intimidators in the bottom of the third inning. With Kannapolis leading 2-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Drew Myers, who is tied for 7th in the SAL with a 0.90 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Intimidators on top, 3-0.

"This was a tough loss," said Asheville manager Orlando Lopez. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
