Asheville Makes It 6 Straight with 8-3 Win
|
Fans who congregated at Progressive Field were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Asheville Tourists topped the Columbus Catfish, 8-3, in South Atlantic League action at Progressive Field. The standout performance belonged to Asheville pitcher and Temple City, California, native Bill Hancock. The win puts Asheville at 28-23 this season.
Asheville used a clutch hit from Luís Bautista to get the win. The second baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Tourists ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Hitting, winning. It's just contagious," said Hancock.
