The Rome Braves downed the Greenville Drive, 5-2, at Fluor Field at the West End. Leon Schmidt led the way, going 3-for-4 for Rome. The Braves' win now puts them at 29-23.

Rome used a well-timed hit by Royce Dickerson to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Braves ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Braves manager Jake Lappin.
