Crawdads Win, 5-4, at Lakewood
|
The game between Hickory and Lakewood is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Hickory Crawdads nipped the Lakewood BlueClaws, 5-4, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Hickory pitcher Emmett Bramer, in particular, starred. Bramer, now 6-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Nate Poos.
The Crawdads got a big at-bat from catcher Lincoln Heeg. For the game, Heeg went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Hickory a 2-1 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Hickory manager Ernesto Chacon.
The win puts Hickory at 30-23 this season.
