Despite a great performance by Greensboro right fielder Otello McAllister, the Jonesboro Growlers defeated the Grasshoppers by the score of 6-4 at NewBridge Bank Park. McAllister was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. At 40-15, the Growlers find themselves in first place in the South Atlantic League Northwest Division.

Jonesboro used the timely hitting of Jason Pouncey to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Growlers on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"A lot to like, just frustrated that we came up short," said Greensboro manager Bryce Scott.
