Mota Helps Catfish Win, 9-4, with Pair of Homers
Behind the bravura of center fielder Santiago Mota, the Columbus Catfish topped the Asheville Tourists by the score of 9-4. Mota hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3 for the Catfish. Columbus reliever Yoachim Griego was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Matt Valentine took the loss. Hunter Carson was credited with the save for Columbus, his 2nd of the season.

Columbus used a well-timed hit by Tae-Hun Kang to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Catfish ahead, 6-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"No complaints from me," said Catfish manager Francisco Avalos. "I like what I saw out there."

Columbus, at 23-31, sits in 7th place in the South Atlantic League Northwest Division.
