Braves Suffer 7-4 Loss to Savannah
|
Kevin Phillips had a good game, but he could not keep the Rome Braves from falling, 7-4, to the Savannah Bananas at Ballpark of Savannah. The Rome designated hitter went 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 in the loss. The Bananas, at 25-28, inhabit 8th place in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division.
Clancy Kline chipped in a run-scoring single for Savannah in the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
