|
The Kannapolis Intimidators buried the Savannah Bananas, 12-1, under a barrage of hits. Timo Pérez led the onslaught, going 3-for-5 for Kannapolis. Dion Barranco got the win, improving to 10-1. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Oscar Champoux was credited with the save for Kannapolis, his 1st of the season.
Pérez had a key at-bat for Kannapolis early in the game. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Kannapolis an early 3-0 lead.
"It was full throttle on our side," said Pérez.
