Drive 3B Peregrina goes 3-for-5 in Win
|
The Greenville Drive topped the Kannapolis Intimidators, 11-7, with youngster Emilio Peregrina playing a key role. Peregrina went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5 for the Drive in the win. Guy Winder closed the door for Greenville, picking up his 9th save of the year. Greenville, with the win, climbs to 19-39.
Had Ronnie Simpson not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Simpson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Drive.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Greenville manager E.J. Boggan.
