The Hickory Crawdads defeated the Hagerstown Suns, 5-1, in South Atlantic League action at L.P. Frans Stadium. Hickory pitcher Emmett Bramer had a standout performance. Bramer got the win, improving to 7-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 0 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Jayden Wright earned the save, his 3rd, for the Crawdads.
P.J. Frasca chipped in a solo home run for Hickory in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Bramer told the Hickory Gazette.
The win puts Hickory at 32-26 this season.
