Shorebirds Better Catfish, 5-4
|
Columbus first baseman Cleary LeBlanc had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. LeBlanc was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, even as Delmarva beat the Catfish, 5-4. Samuel Carley closed the door for Delmarva, picking up his 4th save of the year. Delmarva is now 35-26, while Columbus is 23-38.
Brent Glisson went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs for Delmarva. The 22-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Damian Randolph. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
Delmarva manager Elias Gonzalez called it "a darn good win."
