RiverDogs Handed 7-1 Loss by Tourists
|
Conditions were not ideal but Asheville and Charleston were able to put their game in the books.
Starting pitcher Zane Gooden took care of business, helping the Asheville Tourists stifle the Charleston RiverDogs, 7-1. Asheville, at 23-39, sits in last place in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division.
Asheville used a clutch at-bat from Denis Easterwood to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Tourists ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Easterwood called the win "a collective effort."
