Crawdads Rack Up 4-3 Win Versus Greenville
|
The Greenville Drive could not turn a fine performance from first baseman Dean Briggs into a win. Instead, the Hickory Crawdads prevailed, 4-3. Briggs was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Hickory bumps their record to 36-27 with the win.
Hickory used a clutch at-bat from Roman Weber to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Crawdads ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Weber told the Hickory Chronicle.
