Memphis and Virginia got after it at The Sparrow's Nest.

The Memphis Blues topped the Virginia Black Bears, 4-1, in Eastern Region action at The Sparrow's Nest. The standout performance belonged to Memphis pitcher and Willowbrook, California, native Marc Masterson. Aaron Yeomans earned the save, his 6th.

Memphis took control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Miles Hallam hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Blues.

"We take it day by day here," said Masterson, "and today was a good one for us."

The Black Bears are now 6-11 this season.
