Kannapolis starter Stan Wilbur put a stranglehold on the West Virginia offense. The right-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Intimidators to a 3-1 win. Cortéz De La Cruz, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 17th save. The victory gives Kannapolis a record of 40-26.

The Intimidators got a big at-bat from designated hitter Davy Fonseca. For the game, Fonseca was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Kannapolis a 2-0 lead.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Fonseca said.
