9-2 Loss Deepens Greenville Funk
|
The Greensboro Grasshoppers pinned a convincing loss on the Greenville Drive, 9-2, at NewBridge Bank Park. Cato Dickerson was a main factor in the win. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for Greensboro. Richie Johnson got the win, improving to 5-4. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The last-place Drive have lost 7 straight games.
With Greensboro leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Dickerson hit a fastball from Trevis Sanchez for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Grasshoppers ahead, 5-1.
"Things didn't bounce our way," said Greenville skipper E.J. Boggan.
