The Greensboro Grasshoppers stymied the Savannah Bananas, 4-2, at NewBridge Bank Park. Ulisses Mejia had a good day at the plate. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Greensboro. Norton Welson collected his 2nd save. The win makes Greensboro 48-23.
Mejia had a timely hit for Greensboro in the bottom of the seventh. With Greensboro trailing 2-1, he turned a first pitch fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 4-2, Greensboro.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Greensboro manager Bryce Scott.
