Skidding Grasshoppers Lose 18th Straight
The Augusta GreenJackets topped the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 6-3, at NewBridge Bank Park. Augusta left fielder Louie Hoffmann was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Declan Uribe, 4-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. The save went to John Valentine, his 9th this season.

Luke Gunderson came through with a big-time hit for Augusta. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Greensboro manager Justin Maurer said after the game: "It seems like when our pitching is there our bats haven't been and then vice versa. Right now we're just waiting for it all to click."
