Shorebirds Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Delmarva Shorebirds and Savannah Bananas put on quite a show.
The Delmarva Shorebirds outlasted the Savannah Bananas, 3-2, in 18 innings. Jean Cloutier provided some punch at the plate for Delmarva. He slugged 2 home runs. The wins continue to add up for Delmarva, with the latest making it 8 in a row.
Cloutier had a game-changing home run in the top of the 18th. On a 2-2 changeup from John Chavez, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Shorebirds a 3-2 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Cloutier.
Delmarva manager Carlos Soto had little to say after the game except that his team was "spent."
