Loss to RiverDogs Extends Lakewood Losing Streak
The Charleston RiverDogs had to overcome a big game from Lakewood first baseman Lee Pressley to leave Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park with a victory. And they did, winning 8-6. Pressley slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Bobby Benson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. Edward Gillem was tagged with the loss. Lakewood now has a 6-game losing streak.

The RiverDogs got a big hit from catcher Paxton O'Brien. In the bottom of the fifth, O'Brien pounded a solo home run to left. His 1st home run of the season put the RiverDogs ahead, 8-6.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said RiverDogs manager Jim Salyers. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
