On Road, Jonesboro Drops Lexington, 6-1
|
Jonesboro Growlers starter Ira Adams was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Lexington Legends, 6-1. At 44-32, Jonesboro is in third place in the South Atlantic League Northwest Division.
In the top of the fifth, Jonesboro first baseman Caleb Waeltz had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Waeltz stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-1, Jonesboro. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"Ira did a tremendous job," said Jonesboro manager Cesar Mejia.
