Greenville Gets 11-4 Win Against Hot Rods
|
The Greenville Drive topped the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 11-4, with designated hitter Ronnie Simpson playing a big role. Simpson was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Drive in the win. Jayden Barsh was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Greenville is now 33-45, Bowling Green 46-32.
With Greenville leading 7-4 in the top of the ninth, Simpson came up to bat against Bowling Green pitcher R.J. Almonte. Simpson hit a circle change to left for a grand slam home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Drive on top, 11-4.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Simpson told the Greenville Bulletin.
