Power Deal Catfish 3-2 Defeat
|
Progressive Field was the site of a competitive game between the Columbus Catfish and West Virginia Power.
The West Virginia Power, despite a fine performance by Columbus pitcher Mike Morris, grabbed a 3-2 win at Progressive Field. Morris allowed 1 run over 5 innings. The win went to Zach Henwood in relief, making him now 1-0. Adriano Osorio took the loss for Columbus. Luke Blair nailed down the save.
West Virginia used the timely hitting of Jack Gober to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Power on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Tough loss," said Columbus manager Francisco Avalos. "But we'll learn from it."
The 7th-place Power lifted their record to 33-47.
