Hot Rods Collect 14-13 Win Over Legends
|
The Bowling Green Hot Rods knocked off the Lexington Legends, 14-13, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Roger Adams hit 1 single and 3 doubles, while driving in 2 runs. The winner in relief was Rion Nance. He is now 6-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Keith Shea closed the game out for Bowling Green, earning his 23rd save.
Odern Marcus went 2-5 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 times for Bowling Green. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 13-13 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Kendal Corbett. It was his 47th RBI of the season.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Lexington manager Curtis Bishop.
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Hot Rods.
