Sánchez Stars in 7-1 Grasshoppers Win
The exploits of second baseman Rush Sánchez, who is tied for 9th in the SAL in stolen bases with 10, helped the Greensboro Grasshoppers defeat the West Virginia Power, 7-1. Sánchez slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Greensboro, at 35-48, occupies 8th place in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division.

The Power had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Grasshoppers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder Greg Brizuela came to the plate. Brizuela hit a run-scoring double on a 0-2 fastball from West Virginia hurler Chris Unrue. It was Brizuela's 7th double of the year.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Israel Cantwell.
