RiverDogs Get Past Columbus for 3-2 Win
|
The Charleston RiverDogs and Columbus Catfish played an exciting game.
The Columbus Catfish got a sterling performance from pitcher Joel Corpeno, but the Charleston RiverDogs still prevailed, 3-2. Corpeno threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Omar Domínguez recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 9 for 12.
Brennan Stell was 1-3 with a triple for Charleston. The 22-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Felipe Sánchez. It was his 26th RBI of the season.
Stell said his team "played with determination."
The 7th-place RiverDogs improved to 38-44.
