Hot Rods Tack 5-2 Loss on Bananas
|
Bowling Green Hot Rods starter Tad Henkel pitched a strong game against the Savannah Bananas at Ballpark of Savannah, leading the Hot Rods to victory, 5-2. Henkel, now 2-5, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Bowling Green now sports a record of 47-37.
David Grady had a big run-scoring double for the Hot Rods in the top of the fourth inning. With Bowling Green leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Alfredo Morillo and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hot Rods ahead, 2-0.
"Tad mixed and matched," said Bowling Green manager Jesus Sánchez.
