Suns Get 11-4 Win Versus Greenville
|
The Hagerstown Suns overcame a good performance by Greenville third baseman Brantley Karlis to knock off Greenville, 11-4, at Fluor Field at the West End. Karlis was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dave Boe, the winning pitcher, is now 6-1. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 1. Hagerstown is now 61-23, Greenville 21-63.
Hagerstown used the clutch hitting of Luke Baldwin to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Suns the lead, 6-2. For the game, Baldwin had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Greenville manager Tim Fox.
