Suns Suffer 8-6 Loss to Legends
|
The Lexington Legends took on the Hagerstown Suns at Ballpark of Hagerstown.
Though he had a stellar game, Kris Holmes could not prevent his team, the Hagerstown Suns, from losing, 8-6, to the Lexington Legends. Holmes was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. Emilio Santos, the winner, improved to 1-15. He held the Suns to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 3.
Mateo Batista, the Lexington left fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to make the score 3-0, Legends. For the game, Batista was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Legends manager Ryder Badge wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
With the win, last-place Lexington is 6-82.
