Nathanael Parnell was nothing short of phenomenal for the Delmarva Shorebirds. The 21-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Lakewood BlueClaws, 2-1. In 6.1 innings, Parnell surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Michael Sieberg closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.

Delmarva needed the clutch hitting of Jordan Ross to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Shorebirds on top, 2-1. For the game, Ross had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Nathanael was throwing strikes, locating well," said Delmarva manager Elias Gonzalez.

The defeat makes Lakewood 47-41.
