The Kannapolis Intimidators spoiled a good performance by Savannah designated hitter Heath Rogers, bumping off Savannah, 7-4, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Rogers was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Oliver Farnan came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 5-0. The save went to Slim Ferguson, number 20 for him.
Brandon Lalonde, who leads the SAL with a .472 on-base percentage, chipped in a grand slam home run for Kannapolis in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.
Lalonde offered a curt "no comment" when asked to discuss the win after the game.
