Arojo Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
|
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Dontrelle Arojo -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium and paced the 13-0 Shorebirds win over the Lexington Legends.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Delmarva catcher told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Dontrelle Arojo singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Matt Ferrari in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jack Evans in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
For the year, Arojo is batting .310 with 89 hits and 16 home runs. He has scored 48 times and driven in 62.
