Hill goes 3-for-5, Leads Tourists to Win
|
The 10-4 Asheville win over Bowling Green was due largely to Nickolas Hill. The Tourists shortstop went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Delton Copeland snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits. He's now 5-1 on the season. Asheville currently is in 6th place in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division at 43-47.
With Asheville leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Hill hit a fastball from Elijah Mootz for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Tourists ahead, 5-0.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Hill.
