The Jonesboro Growlers downed the Hagerstown Suns, 8-3. The hitting star was center fielder Robby Parker. Parker went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Growlers. The Growlers saw their record improve to 61-33.

The Suns had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Growlers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old left fielder Steve Tapia came to the plate. Tapia hit a bases-clearing double on a full count fastball from Hagerstown hurler Israel Rose. It was Tapia's 16th double of the year.
