Batavia Wins, 9-0
|
MCU Park was the site of the home opener for the Brooklyn Cyclones. The contest featured a prime matchup between Gabriel Gapinski of the visiting Batavia Muckdogs and Adam Swanson of the Cyclones. The final score was 9-0, the Muckdogs getting the win. Gabriel Gapinski turned in the best performance.
Jared Steele, the 21-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Steele contributed a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Batavia up, 5-0.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Gapinski.
