The Oil City Oilers earned a win at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, stopping the Tri-City ValleyCats, 5-2. Starting pitcher Cal Justis played a big role in his team's success. The winning pitcher was Justis, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. The win has Oil City at 2-0.
Oil City used a timely hit from Lukas Morton to get the win. The second baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Oilers on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
