Martin Batters Tri-City Big Time
The 5th time was not the charm for Jack Martin today.

The center fielder for the Wenatchee Chiefs hit the milestone today at Chiefs Stadium, but it was the Tri-City ValleyCats that salvaged a 14-11 victory. Martin finished with a 5-for-6 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough.

"He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Tri-City manager Jason McTaggart said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."

Martin declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one."

Jack Martin grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
