Red Wings Snag 3-2 Win
|
The Hamilton Red Wings faced a tough opponent in Niagara Falls pitcher Beckett Willis, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Red Wings Ballpark by a final score of 3-2. Willis went 7 innings and allowed no runs. The winner in relief was Gary Berger. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Hamilton goes to 5-2.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Hamilton trailing 2-1, Neal Pace delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Max Snyder for a 2-run home run. Ballgame.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Hamilton manager Rex Tutt.
