Thrilling Victory Pushes Red Wings Win Streak to 6
|
Brecken Pipitone impressed in the 5-4 Hamilton win over Niagara Falls. Pipitone was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Manuel Camarillo picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Glenn Moody was tagged with the loss. Jess Niemi closed the game out for Hamilton, earning his 3rd save.
Had Pipitone not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Pipitone hit a 2-run single. The Red Wings took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.
Pipitone told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
Hamilton goes to 6-2 with the win.
