Late Rally by Doubledays Secures 2-0 Win
|
Reginaldo Clemente was masterful in helping the Auburn Doubledays take down the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 2-0. The losing streak has reached 8 games for the Ironbirds. Manager was visibly upset after the game, hurling a string of profanities en route to the clubhouse.
Brantley Vitale drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for Auburn. The 22-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Alvaro Barragan. It was his 1st walk of the season.
"Watch and learn," said Vitale. "This is what good pitching looks like."
