The Staten Island Pizza Rats defeated the Tri-City ValleyCats by the score of 8-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Pacífico Guillen. Guillen went 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Pizza Rats on the day. Austin Coalson snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Maxwell Thompson suffered the loss. The win leaves Staten Island with a record of 5-2.

With Staten Island leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Guillen came up to bat against Tri-City pitcher Maxwell Thompson. Guillen hit a fastball to left-center for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Pizza Rats on top, 4-0.
