AquaSox Top Cavalry, 6-4
|
The Everett AquaSox weathered a fine game by New Westminster designated hitter Vismel De Leon to upend the Cavalry, 6-4, at Grays Harbor Ballpark. De Leon was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Andy Wilson, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Cavalry to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4. The win gives Everett a record of 4-1.
Everett relied on the hitting of Russ Dean to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the AquaSox on top, 6-3. For the game, Dean had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Dean.
