Bennett scores 5 runs to Power Indians Offense
|
The 13-6 Spokane win over Tri-City was due largely to Mike Bennett. The Indians center fielder was 2-3 with a double and 3 walks. He scored 5 runs. Andy Taylor, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 1-0. The win gives Spokane a record of 1-3.
In the bottom of the second, Spokane center fielder Terry Sagayadoro had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Sagayadoro stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-0, Spokane. For the game, he was 1 for 5. He drove in 5 runs and scored once.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Spokane skipper Rafael Mier.
