The Youngstown Gremlins powered past the West Virginia Black Bears, 9-4, at Dutchess Stadium. Grant McConley provided some of the pop. He was 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Youngstown is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 3rd win in 12 games.

Charley Paulino had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth for Youngstown. With the bases loaded and the Gremlins leading 5-4, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
